Here you will learn all about a french explorer Samuel De Champlain. This explorer mapped out one of the most important continents. Which is North America. Samuel was born in Brouge, Saintonge 1567. Died in "Quebec December 25, 1635.

Early Experiences

 When Samuel was little his father was most of the time navigator. So, his father hired a teacher for navigation. Most of Samuels life was educated on navigation and ship works. Later on in his life, entered the army.  The army he entered sort of teached about vessels of ships.This went on for a few years. Then he became captain of a vessel. When he became captain of the vessel, he discovered smaller islands.

 

Accomplishments 

 

When he returned to France, he got permission from very important people from back in that time to explore and map out. Their names were Henry the 5th, Commander De Chaste, Governer of Dieppe. Samuel De Champlain got permission to map and explore  North America.  Samuel sailed on March 15, 1603 in a ship named Pontgrave. They reached the land on May 24 with other ships. When they reached the land, already commander De Chasted passed away. In addition, when he got to North America, he mostly mapped out the northeastern of Nortth America.

After a while, Samuel made one settlement. It was named Quebec. Around his settlement he discovered two lakes. An he named those two lakes after himself. This event was important because, it was during the New World voyage. I say this because, what ever happens during the New World voyage. Gets recorded and who ever did a voyage everyone will know about it.

When Champlain was done with the long process of his voyage. He headed home. When he headed home he was to meet with the ommander but as yoou know he died. So he meet someone else about the accomplishments. Also before heading home he found a settlement named Arcadia. The settlement was lived by  Indian tribes. When Samuel reconized this he told De Monte. And he sent men to grow plants and build buildings. Including of what he said, he mentioned that he befriended the indians. And asked them if they can jion the expedition
